The Ribbon
A young girl suddenly finds herself in a beautiful imaginary world. As she explores this enchanting place, the long ribbon of her dress gets caught, holding her back. As she pulls on the ribbon to break free, a completely unexpected journey begins.
Composer’s Biography – Jonathan Galland
Jonathan Galland is a French composer currently established in San Francisco, California. His work for motion pictures (ranging from feature-length documentary and fiction to animated shorts and music for advertisements) has received to this day 59 international music awards, including “Best Composer” awards, “Critics Choice” awards, “Outstanding Achievement” awards, and “Award of Excellence” accolades, as well as speciality awards such as “Best Orchestration for an Animated Short”, “Best Song Music Production” or “Best Trailer Arrangement”.
Being Classically trained since the age of six as a violinist and through music conservatory, Jonathan progressively developed a passion for writing music to motion pictures. After graduating from a music high school in Paris, he completed his academic journey with an MFA (initially BFA) in Music Production and Sound Design for Visual Media, with an emphasis on Film Scoring from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, CA. He is presently an affiliate to SOCAN, as well as a member of “The Recording Academy” (hosts of the Grammy Awards) and an approved submitter to the Academy Awards (Oscars). He was also recently honoured to have served as a music judge for the prestigious JUNO Awards.
